FAQs

Why Should I Request A Second Opinion From Orange County Pathology Medical Group, Inc?

The answer is simple: Education, advanced training, certifications and experience. These are the pillars that support a second opinion you can trust.

Where Did Your Pathologists Receive Their Education and Training?

Our Pathologists received their medical degrees and advanced medical training from prominent, highly respected schools and medical centers such as Stanford University, the University of Southern California (USC), the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), the University of California at Irvine (UCI), Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and George Washington University Medical Center.

Why Are Certifications Important?

The American Board of Pathology conducts rigorous examinations of qualified physicians, and awards certification in specific areas of practice. Most hospitals and medical centers will not allow a physician to practice as a pathologist unless they are certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology. All of our pathologists have those certifications—and a third certification in a particular subspecialty. The certified subspecialties represented at Orange County Pathology Medical Group, Inc are dermatopathology, cytopathology, hematopathology and pediatric pathology.

How Experienced Are Your Pathologists?

They are very experienced. Current members of our group have been on staff at both St. Joseph Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) since 1994. During that same period, they have also operated an independent laboratory under the group name Orange County Pathology Medical Group, Inc. These three sources annually generate thousands of cases concerning a wide variety of tissue types and tumors. In addition, members of our group have served as Clinical Instructor at Stanford University, Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), and as a member of the Pathology Committee for Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG).  In addition, two members of our group were honored as Physicians of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association.
